Anafi : Intimate Beaches with Panoramic Vistas

Crystal clear sea, golden fine sand that feels like velvet beneath your feet and the epic panoramic vistas. That's the draw. That's everything you could ever ask for when it comes to basking in the sun in the Cycladic island, Anafi.

A large part of Anafi's appeal is its strikingly beautiful string of discreet beaches along the south coast of Anafi- its almost deserted stretch of golden sand and the crystal waters of the Aegean sea. Most of the beaches are accessible, you can easily walk from one to another. Some of the beaches are catered to free camping and are nudism friendly. And each distinct in its own characteristic, from sandy to rocky and to cliff-sheltered. Though wild and raw, tranquility is at its optimum. From the port, within 200 metres, you can go on foot to the Kleisidi beach for its fine sand. There you will be in the company of two taverns. Roukounas, east of Kleisidi is the longest beach on the island. We lay on the silky mattress of sand on Roukunas beach and took in the impressively perfect widescreen view of the sea. Our eyes squinting at the glare bouncing off the sea as the sun rays worked its magic on our already bronzed skin. We stayed there for hours, toggling between swimming naked, to reading our book naked and stealing glances at the epic picturesque view with our naked eyes.

This. Is. Life.

Other popular beaches include the Prassie, Katsouni,, Flamourou, Megas Potamos Agioi Anargyroi and Livoskopos. On our last night, a local; a waitress at a restaurant we dined at, recommended Kameni beach. She spoke about the beach with so much love and we knew we have to return to Anafi to understand her infatuation with the beach. Wait for us, Kameni.
